The common belief
of the people at Good Shepherd begins with our belief in our Triune God; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Yet, not three gods but one God.
We come to this belief by our understanding of the Word of God, the Bible. We hold the Bible as our sole standard for faith and how we live our lives. We believe it to be the true inerrant Word of God.
We further believe we cannot earn our way in to heaven by the good we do. As the Bible declares, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" We are sinners no different or better then anyone else. Yet we believe Jesus death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins. We believe we are forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe we have eternal life, not by the good we do but because of the good Jesus has done.
We believe God's kingdom is not an exclusive club. God loves all people. He wants all to come to faith in Jesus and live eternally with Him. Thus we have a desire to share the love of Jesus with all people. Because of this we recognize our faith as a personal relationship with Jesus but not a private relationship. We believe in the church of God. We come together to worship our Triune God and to share our faith and our lives with one another as God's people in this place.
We invite you to join with us in this journey of faith and Christian life at Good Shepherd.
